Add a Spark to Your Fourth of July - Mommy and Me Strawberry Sparkler
Every mama knows that staying hydrated during the summer months are so important for her and her minis. Water is obviously the best way to avoid dehydration – but if you are like me, it’s hard getting the minis to drink water as much as they should. The Fourth of July weekend is the perfect time to add some spark to your everyday H2O. We personally love this recipe from Susan at Simple Healthy Kitchen.
Sparkling mineral water is always a great base to a summer beverage, just add fruit and you’ll have a tasty refresher. With only 6 ingredients and a total of 5 minutes to prep - this is the perfect mommy and me activity that’s easy to make with your mini. It's really mess free and our aprons will help ensure that it stays that way:-)
Added bonus, freeze these sparklers and turn them into frozen treats for your minis!
Ingredients
Instructions
1. Wash and dry lemons. Cut 6 lemons in half, and juice each half into large pitcher (you may want to use a strainer to catch the seeds). Slice the remaining 2 lemons to form wheels, set aside.
2. Clean strawberries and slice into pieces, set aside.
3. Add sparkling water and Stevia to lemon juice in pitcher. Stir well. Add lemon slices (reserving some for garnish if desired). Add strawberry slices.
4. Let mixture sit for 10-15 minutes for the flavor of fruits to mix. Add ice and serve.
